Categories: News Releases

Trustees with the Toronto District School Board have selected Snyder Architects Inc. to begin design work on the new Bloor Collegiate Institute and Alpha II Alternative School.

The new school, to be built on the site of the former Brockton High School at Bloor and Dufferin streets, is part of a multi-million dollar redevelopment plan that will also see the construction of a 30,000 sq. ft. Community Hub and new residential buildings.

As part of the design process, the Board and Snyder Architects Inc. will consult with the school community to gather their input about the new school building both inside and out.

Quick Facts

  • The size of the school is expected to be approximately 125,000 sq. ft.
  • The school is tentatively planned to open in September 2021.

“I’m so pleased that we’re taking yet another step toward the completion of this new school. The community, students and staff will be engaged in the development of an innovative plan — one that connects the school to our neighbourhood in new and exciting ways."

- Marit Stiles, Trustee, TDSB
