Mental Health and Well-Being: We're Here to Help

Mental Health and Well-Being at the TDSB

Good mental health and well-being are critical and foundational to the success of each and every student. Promoting positive mental health, safe and accepting schools and healthy and inclusive schools are a key focus at the TDSB.

Creating a better understanding of mental health and well-being is important as we continue to support students. Talking openly about mental health is a key part of this and building students’ awareness of the importance of having a caring adult they can turn to as they learn how to deal with life’s challenges. Developing optimism, self-confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging in our students is essential to their success.

There are many ways that we promote mental health and well-being in schools, and we also support students who need greater supports for challenges including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, mood disorders and more:

January 25, 2017 is Bell Let’s Talk Day and the TDSB will be joining the conversation on Twitter about mental health with the goal of raising awareness about programs, services and supports in the TDSB and helping to dispel the stigma of mental health. Join and follow the conversation with us @TDSB and @TDSB_MHWB.
