Wireless learning at the Netbook School!

George Harvey continues its leadership in high technology!  We are introducing a wireless netbook access for all students!  Students will have a netbook that can be used to access the internet from anywhere in the building, to enhance their learning.  All students will have a netbook, starting with grade 9 students in 2010-11.  Netbooks can be taken home by students, to be used in their studies to do their assignments, research their work, work at home or at school, making our motto - Learning anytime anyplace, Education for the 21st Century! Apply what you learn!

Students need a combination of experiences, practical as well as theoretical.  We at George Harvey offer students a broad range of programs that allow students to apply what they are learning.  Science competitions, transportation technology, electricity, computer electronics, construction engineering are all available for students to further their interest and learning.

Robotics!

We have been part of the FIRST Robotics Competition for many years.  This allows students the chance to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to build a robot, program it with computer software, and control it wirelessly.  Students use the robot to practice carrying out the tasks in the competition, and work collaboratively with other teams.  What an experience!
