What's New? Ukeleles for Grade 4, 5 and 6

This year we are offering a ukelele program for all our students in grades 4, 5 and 6.  This is in addition to our excellent vocal music program, recorder program and a Junior and Senior Band.  The Arts are an important part of our academic program at Brimwood and we are very proud of the fine work our teachers are doing to instill a love for music, dance, drama and visual arts in our students.  Ukeles are just the right size for young children to begin to explore the world of string instruments. This may spark an interest in further musical studies as the students progress. A Dual-Track School Photo

A Dual-Track School

Brimwood offers both a regular English program and a French Immersion program. Students begin French Immersion in Senior Kindergarten and are taught entirely in French until they reach grade 4 at which point English is introduced.  By grade 6, a student's day is half French, half English.  We are equally proud of our regular program where students are taught entirely in English until grade 4 when they start to take French for 40 minutes per day.  All our teachers in both the English and French track are warm, nurturing individuals who are commited to ensuring that every graduating student looks back fondly on their years at Brimwood. Focus on Academics

As a member of the "Schools in the Middle" project, we are working very diligently to ensure that each and every student will reach the Provincial standard on their EQAO assessments. Our Primary students will be concentrating on Retelling and our Junior students are working on Summarizing.

Brimwood is a certified Eco-school

We proudly announce that this year we have been awarded the Silver Level as an Eco-school!  We are striving to achieve the Gold Level by the end of the school year.  To do this we are doubling our efforts to ensure that each and every student brings a litterless lunch and that we reduce the amount of garbage that we produce as a school.
