Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute is proud of its tradition of excellence and achievement. A caring and professional staff co-ordinate programs in an atmosphere that is safe, challenging, and welcoming. Our renovated school includes a large library, the Canadian Space Resource Centre, and fully networked computer system including the new Future Generation Computer lab and publishing centre. The use of technology is embedded in the curriculum, and computers are used as an important communication tool for staff, parents and students. Our school website is a constant work-in-progress, providing students and parents with the relevant information they need.

The Canadian Space Resource Centre
to be a focal point for space education for teachers and students. During the last 21 years the CSRC has had partnerships with, NASA, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). The CSRC serves the TDSB, Ontario and Canada.
Regular Instructional Programs
In addition to the regular instructional program mandated by The Ontario Curriculum , our school offers optional programs. Details of these programs can be found in the Choices document available on the TDSB web (TDSB.on.ca). A hardcopy is provided to students and parents in January of each year to assist them in choosing courses for the following school year.
Special Education Programs
A variety of special education programs and services are offered to meet the needs of all students, including students with exceptionalities, such as behavioural, communication, intellectual, physical and multiple learning disabilities. Students' exceptionalities are identified through a formal review process: an Identification, Placement and Review Committee (IPRC).

Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute is a TDSB certified ecoschool with a proud tradition of caring for the environment. We have earned the gold award two years in a succession for our ecofriendly initiatives. The success of our initiatives is due to the combined effort of an environmentally aware school community.
TOPS
TOPS -Talented Offerings for Programs in the Sciences is our enrichment program for students who have a keen interest in science and mathematics. TOPS students work together for four years, learning from students with interest and goals similar to their own. Grade 10 students experience an expedition to Algonquin Park, publishing papers and presenting their findings.
Specialist High Skills Major
The Design and Publishing program is offered to students in any career path with the purpose of giving students the opportunity to acquire skills, knowledge and experiences that will best assist them in their post-secondary pathways The program is focused on the design and publishing industry and provides many benefits.
