Lucy Maud Montgomery Public School

School History

Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874 - 1942) was born at Clifton, Prince Edward Island. She was the author of the famous Canadian novel Anne of Green Gables. She came to live in Leaskdale, Ontario, in 1911 after her wedding with Rev. Ewen Macdonald in Prince Edward Island. She wrote close to a dozen books while she was living in the Leaskdale Manse before the Macdonald family moved to Norval, Ontario in 1926.
