Sir William Osler (1849 – 1919) was a famous physician, pathologist, historian, educator and author. He taught medicine at McGill, Johns Hopkins and Oxford. His lectures and writing revolutionized methods of medical instruction and measures to protect public health. He became known as the father of clinical medicine.
