The TDSB, in collaboration with the Parent Involvement Advisory Committee (PIAC), is pleased to launch the first system-wide School Council survey in alignment with PR558 - Parent and Community Involvement. This procedure requires a system survey of school councils be conducted periodically to assess effectiveness and determine how the system could provide further support for their work.
The primary objectives of the survey are to:
- Assess the current status of School Council operations across the Board;
- Identify areas of effective practice and areas needing further attention or support and;
- Guide next steps for improvement.
Aggregated group responses will be tabulated and shared with School Councils and used by the Board’s Parent & Community Engagement Office (PCEO), Parent Involvement Advisory Committee (PIAC) and Trustees to better aid and support School Council efforts.
Survey Completion
- The survey is to be completed either by the Chair, Co-Chair or an Active Council Member on behalf of the School Council. Please note that only one survey per School Council group shall be completed and submitted.
- If a school has more than one type of School Council, please have the Chair/ Lead of each group complete a separate survey.
- Please note that the on-line version must be completed and submitted in a single computer session. It cannot be saved, closed and then re-opened to continue. For that reason, you may wish to print out a paper copy of the survey first for your reference and/or for preliminary completion at your convenience; but you must transfer your responses to the on-line form later and submit electronically.
