Tutors in the Classroom

The TDSB offers a Tutors in the Classroom project, a partnership between the TDSB and the Literacy and Numeracy Secretariat of the Ministry of Education. Under this program, select schools are eligible to hire a tutor and these tutors receive a stipend for their service.

For more information, please contact 416 394-7264 or tutorsintheclassroom@tdsb.on.ca

Full time college and university students who want to make an ongoing commitment to an elementary school may be paid for their efforts. Individual schools are entitled to contract the services of a single tutor to assist students with improving their literacy and numeracy skills. Tutors are eligible to be paid for 100 hours of service at $10 per hour over the entire school year.

To be considered, you must:

  • Be a current full-time university or college student
(No graduate students or unemployed certified teachers or current TDSB employees are eligible)
